The People have spoken!
A big thanks to all who took the time to give their opinions re the continued use of our website.
Before I publish the results, I would point out that it was "not a waste of time and money". The website has been generously sponsored by Adam in the first year and by Bob T this year, so no cost at all to the Society. As to the waste of time...well it was my time and and I was more than willing to try and improve things for the Society....now the results.
Eleven members actually used the voting slip on the web, the results were 6 voted for the web only and 5 voted for Whatsapp only, as I said, this was via the voting slip, HOWEVER there was an overwhelming vote of keeping both systems, by members who showed their preferences via Whatsapp, the very fact that they preferred to do it that way tells me that most of you are happier using Whatsapp, that's a very important point.
This brings me to the issue of continuing to run both systems. A couple of weeks ago I spoke to Charlie and told him I would be stepping down as Gatekeeper, but that I was willing to continue until the next AGM. This is 3 and a half months away, so if there is someone out there who will take on the job then I am willing to help train them up. It may seem like a long way off but there is a lot to learn. The last thing I want is to leave the Society in the lurch.
What do you need to run the website?
The platform I use is WIX, it's not overly difficult to use.
Lots of free time.

The pay is poor! ( 0 euros ), but the rewards are great.
Applicants should be either male or female, over 4 years old and under 120 years old.
An IQ of over 20 would be good but not essential.
Be able to speak and understand Gibberish!

Website or WhatsApp
This is for all members.
Guys I am asking for your honest opinion as to the sole use of our Website instead of using it alongside WhatsApp.
Currently we are trying to run both systems, it does cause an awful lot of unneccesary work as so many things are duplicated, plus there is often a lot of confusion, and mistakes happen which shouldn't.
I understand that some of you don't like using the web for whatever reason and that you prefer WhatsApp...this is fine. From my own viewpoint, running the web does take up an awful lot of time...to me it's a "labour of love", I just try to make things a better experience for all our members.
I would advocate that all the "official" stuff like bookings are done strictly through the site, with the exception being, that the payment system stays the same, and confirmation of payment stays the same.
At the moment all the info you need is on the website, it just takes getting used to....and other things can be added to make an even better experience ( I'm open to suggestions ).
The reason I am posting this letter is to give all members a chance to air their views...I strongly believe that we all have an equal opportunity to have our say. The reason I am posting it now is that if I do this at the end of the year it would create chaos with trying to get things sorted in a short period of time.
Finally, consider this please....if we just use WhatsApp the only people who can see info is those who are signed up to WhatsApp ( members only ), whereas the beauty of using the website is that it's Worldwide, so as we advertise our Society via business cards and posters, people everywhere can log in and look at it. A proven way of increasing membership!
One thing I would genuinely ask is that you give a honest opinion and do NOT worry about upsetting me, you won't!
