Updated: 6 days ago

Exciting times!
Exciting times!

Hi everyone, this years AGM will be held at Bar97 on Mon 12th, Jan.

The bar opens at 17.00 and the meeting will start at 17.10 prompt...I have booked the main area for 20 people and for approx 1 hour. It would be useful if you let me know whether or not you will be attending.

I will update the agenda as necessary, if you are unable to attend in person you can vote on any issues simply by using the "comment box" at the bottom of this post. Likewise, if you have a proposal, then again just use the "comments box" ( you'll need someone to second your proposal! ).

Agenda

Welcome ( Peter B )

Treasurer's report ( Peter B )

Apologies ( Taff )

Capt's Address ( Taff )

Handover of Captaincy

New Capt's Address ( Charlie )

Proposals ( see below )

Election of officers/ volunteers

Players "Player of the Year" ( Johnny H )

AOB

this is subject to amendments/suggestions.

Proposals

  • A review of the handicap system. Currently, anyone in the winning team gets 1 stroke off their h/cap. It is possible to play badly but be supported by your other team-mates.

The proposal is that only an individual performance should affect an individuals handicap, therefore team scores should not count against a h/cap

Proposer: Rob Muir Seconder: Martin B

  • Similar to above, but for the Player of the Year ( POTY ). i.e only an individuals points should count towards the POTY.

    Proposer: Taff Seconder: Steve Griffin

  • Rob Muir to be new Handicap Sec

Proposer: Charlie Seconder: Martin B

Election/Re-election of Committee

Captain Charlie

Vice-Captain Martin

Treasurer Peter B

Handicap Sec Rob M

Hi, for the AGM can consideration be given to 1) playing more than once a month and 2) having comps against other local golf societies!👍😃

Thanks Dicky T....Are you going to put these down as proposals? You'll need a seconder.

Some people would play more than once, but a lot wouldn't afford it...a consideration would be to speak to Martin B who organises regular comps at Santana or have a word with Sandra as she is also a member of Chris Day's Society. Playing against another Society could be fun....BUT...who will organise it? I'm happy to add the proposal as long as you get a seconder...another way would for it to be brought up at the next committee meeting...you're call bro.

Thanks for using the website...much appreciated.

Are you going to be at the AGM?

Taff
