OK guys, here's the scenario for Sat 26th at Santa Maria. We are just the 10 of us, and as you know this would have generated 50 euros for prizes, so not a lot to go around....however, we have a solution!
There will be 2 comps at the same time. The usual individual stapleford...1st will collect 30 euros and runner up gets 20 euros, and of course points for the Golfer of the Year ( leader at the moment is Richard T....we have to bring him down a bit! ).
We have 4 x 10 euro Tapa vouchers for NTP, compliments of Bar97.
The second comp is going to be along the lines of the Ryder Cup. Good guys against the Bad guys...5 v 5. It will be a matchplay situation ( with handicaps of course )n.b There are to be NO gimees, everything must be holed out because it could affect the individual comp otherwise. There will be Capt's prizes awarded for the teams PLUS of course we will be playing for the Maurice Ellis Trophy. Teams with handicaps are below.
First tee is 09.28.......suggest we meet 08.45
Bar 97 opens at 17.00
Presentation will start at 17.15 PROMPT! Please try and support it.
I have ordered food 17.30 to 17.45
We have 3 tables reserved in the back room....numbers 9/10/11
Good Guys Bad Guys
Sandra ( 34 ) v Barry ( 24 )
Rob M ( 25 ) v John M ( 24 )
Lobo ( 30 ) Capt v Steve G ( 23 ) Capt
Martin ( 16 ) v Richard T ( 17 )
Taff ( 18 ) v Adam ( 12 )
Sandra and Barry will be a 2 ball
Rob and Lobo can share a buggy as can John and Steve G
Martin and Taff can share as can Richard and Adam
You only have to mark your opponents card, so no need to worry about team scores...simples!
For the matchplay:
Sandra gets a shot on SI ( mens )... 1 to 10
Rob gets a shot on SI... 1
Lobo gets a shot on SI ...1 to 7
Richard gets a shot on...SI 1
Taff gets a shot on SI...1 to 6
I think that's about it....lets all enjoy the golf and each others company and may the best team win!
Onwards and upwards
Taff
p.s I went over today and met the manager..Pedro..the course is looking like Augusta. The greens are now being hand mown, the fairways look stunning, beware of the prices in the restaurant though. I paid 17 euros for a coffee and an egg and bacon sandwich! That being said, the sandwich was enough for 2 people...a triple decker that filled a platter, along with frits
