Christmas - Calanova

Christmas Comp at Calanova - 13th Dec

Hey all you golfing nuts from Bar 97. Advanced notice that we will be playing our Christmas Comp at Calanova...Saturday 13th Dec.

We will also be playing for the Captains Day Trophy!

This will be my last outing as Captain, a mixture of relief but also sadness, there is a lovely symmetry to it as I started off my term in "office" at Calanova, it will mark the end of a tiring but thoroughly enjoyable 12 months for me, I'm really looking forward to seeing all my friends at the final event of 2025.

Prize giving and presentation will be held at Bridges Bar ( timings still to be confirmed ). Last year we had a great Christmas meal and they looked after us brilliantly! If you don't want to miss out I would get your names down early.

To book, please put your names down below in the "comments" box and how many guests you will be bringing. I will confirm the final costings after a committee meeting next week.

Members get priority but guests will be accepted from Wed 29th Oct.

Comp will be as normal...individual prizes, team prizes, NTP's and longest drive.

This will be the final event for Player of the Year ( POTY ), it's very tight between 3 players and the winner will be announced at the AGM in January.

Ricky the Bricky has donated a very nice prize for the longest drive which will be the 2nd hole....to win it, your ball MUST be on the fairway!

First Tee time is 9.20, I shall be hitting the first ball and I hope you are there to see me go in the water ( NOT )! Get there nice and early anyway...Christmas surprise!

Afterwards we are back at Bridges for presentation/meal/entertainment etc. This starts at 4.30 - 5pm.
